Peotone American Legion Post 392 will celebrate Memorial Day and honor its veterans on Monday, May 30, with a parade that begins with line-up at 9:30 a.m. at the Legion Post. The parade will step-off at 10 a.m., proceeding to the cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. ceremony, which includes: Welcome Address; Presentation of Colors and Flag; Raising of the Flag, “National Anthem,” and Pledge of Allegiance; Invocation/Benediction; POW-MIA Ceremony; Wreath Placement; Guest Speaker Rev. Terry Krouskoupf; Medley of Songs – Frankfort Brass and PHS Band; “Amazing Grace,” – Abby Coates; Salute to the Dead; and “Taps.” After the ceremony, a fish fry will be held at the Legion Post, with complimentary fish and coffee provided by the Legion. Those attending are asked to bring a covered-dish to share.
