I served 4 years as an infantryman in the US Marine Corps from 2003-2007. I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and again in 2005. I got my start in Veterans Services as the Illinois State Coordinator for Team Rubicon, a Non-Profit Veteran Based disaster relief organization. I spend a month in New York helping the people in the Rockaways clean out their homes and prepare to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy. This is where I saw the extreme potential of my fellow Veterans. Shortly after I returned from New York I was offered the chance the volunteer as the Region 5 Director, later reorganized as the Regional Communications Manager. At about the same time, I began working for the Veterans Assistance Commission of Kankakee County. After a year and a half assisting Veterans with their claims and running the Financial Assistance Program, I accepted a Job with Will County. I have worked her for 8 years and am currently acting as the Interim Superintendent. My philosophy is that any Veteran that comes to me with questions will not only get the best possible answer, but will thoroughly understand the benefits that they are entitled to.
